This Wednesday (25), 21 cities in the region of Campinas (SP) resume the immunization against the flu in the elderly and health professionals, target audience of the first phase of the campaign. Due to the high demand and the anticipation of the campaign, the doses ended in these municipalities. The vaccine immunizes against Influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and Influenza B, so it is considered to be an ally in the diagnosis of cases of the new coronavirus.

In a press conference this Wednesday, the Health Secretary of Indaiatuba (SP), Graziela Garcia, informed that the expectation is to immunize 1,200 people in homes by 7:00 pm and doses will continue to be distributed in homes for the elderly and people with serious diseases. The charge for rotating parking (blue zone) is suspended in Campinas. The decree was published by Mayor Jonas Donizette on Wednesday (25) and is valid until April 21.

Campinas also suspends selective collection in the city from this Friday (27). During the period, recycling cooperatives will also stop working indefinitely. According to the city hall, the ecopoints are still open.

This Wednesday morning, the mayor of Indaiatuba, Nilson Gaspar, informed that daily the city will have the disinfection of public places, such as squares and the bus station, in the fight against Covid-19. The spraying is done with chlorine in the allowed concentration and enough to kill the coronavirus. The city administration advises the elderly to stay at home and said that medicines are delivered to homes for people over 80. In addition, another 10 beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are being set up at Hospital Dia due to the pandemic.

The manufacturer of agricultural and construction machinery John Deere announced on Tuesday that it will suspend the work of its production units in the country due to the new coronavirus starting this Thursday (26). The shutdown will be indefinite and affect the construction machinery unit in Indaiatuba (SP).

Residents on the outskirts of Campinas recount the difficulties faced in maintaining the quarantine and hygiene recommended by the authorities in the fight against the coronavirus. Indaiatuba (SP) investigates the second suspected death from coronavirus. The city has no confirmed cases of the disease until Wednesday morning (25) and the city hall is still waiting for the results of the two tests. The samples were sent to the Adolfo Lutz Institute.

On Tuesday afternoon, Campinas released another positive case, reaching 10, and 308 under investigation. The city also announced a review of measures on public transport, after registering capacity in some vehicles on the first day of fleet reduction in quarantine. Student and university transportation vouchers are also suspended.

As of Wednesday morning, the region has registered 17 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the following cities:

  • Campinas – 10
  • Valinhos – 3
  • Jaguariúna – 1
  • Hortolândia – 1
  • Paulínia – 1
  • Holambra – 1

The federal government issued provisional measure 927/2020 with the purpose of preserving employment and income. There are several rights involved in this measure, but the FGTS, holidays and annual allowance stand out. As this is a provisional measure, the text is effective immediately, but it still needs to be approved by the National Congress within 120 days in order not to lose its validity. Emergency situation

Serra Negra (SP) is yet another city in the region that declared an emergency situation because of the new coronavirus. The decree is valid from this Wednesday. The measure, in addition to expanding circulation restrictions, aims at waiving the bidding for the necessary goods and services, as well as the exceptional hiring of personnel to meet the emergency situation.

The decree imposes, among other measures, the prohibition on renting recreational and leisure farms located in the municipality, determines the postponement of the annual launch of the Service Tax (ISS) and fees in six installments, starting in July, extending the maturity of the Property and Urban Territorial Tax (IPTU) and installments due in March and April to May 22, informed the Municipality of Serra Negra.
