The baby’s contamination was reported in an epidemiological bulletin released on Thursday (26) at an online press conference with state government officials. The child’s health status is stable.
Of the 25 confirmed cases in Mato Grosso do Sul, 12 patients are in isolation at home – ten in Campo Grande, one in Ponta Porã and one in Sidrolândia. Nine people have already been discharged and four are admitted to hospitals for treatment.
The state reported no deaths from Covid-19.
The suspected cases under investigation had the samples sent for examination for nine types of respiratory viruses, including influenza and coronavirus. The results are proto between 24 to 72 hours after receiving the samples.
The number of deaths from the new coronavirus in Brazil rose to 77 on Thursday, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The record of 20 deaths in just one day is the highest so far.
The state with the highest number of records is São Paulo, with 58 confirmed deaths. There were also 9 deaths in Rio de Janeiro, 3 in Ceará and 3 in Pernambuco. Amazonas, Goiás, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul had a death record each.
With the confirmation of the first death in Goias this Thursday, all regions of the country have died from coronavirus.
Altogether, there are already at least 2,915 Covid-19 records in the country. In the fourth, there were 2,433 cases, an increase of 19.8%.
