In September last year, the Finnish company HMD Global announced a low-cost Nokia 2.4 smartphone based on the MediaTek Helio P22 platform. According to online sources, this model may soon have a successor.
The Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) website published data on the Nokia device under the code T99652AA1. For comparison: Nokia 2.4 is codenamed T99651AA1. Thus, there are suggestions that the new product may enter the commercial market under the name Nokia 2.5.
Unfortunately, there is little information about the characteristics of the next smartphone at the moment. It is only noted that it supports Bluetooth 5.0 wireless communication and 4G / LTE cellular networks. In other words, there is no 5G modem.
Just like the current Nokia 2.4 model, the novelty will be equipped with one of the MediaTek chips and HD + display. At the back there will be a camera containing at least two image sensors. The official presentation is scheduled for next spring – in April or May.
Note that the Nokia brand is currently in 15th place in the ranking of smartphone manufacturers. Approximately 46.6 million cell phones were sold under the brand last year, including 8.0 million smartphones and 38.6 million cell phones.
