This Sunday’s bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) over 303 deaths e 9498 new cases by covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
In the past 19 days, this is the 3rd in which the 10,000 cases are not exceeded. The evolution of new cases this week, compared to the same days last week, shows an improvement in 5 of those 7 days.
In terms of deaths, they registered again 303 deaths, equaling the maximum number that had been recorded on Thursday. In the past six days, the country has recorded more deaths than on any other day in the pandemic.
In terms of hospitalizations, new highs are also reached: there are 150 more hospitalized patients (6694 not total) – which has only been overcome in 12 days since the start of the pandemic. There are also 15 more in intensive care units (858 not total), only 142 seats at maximum capacity.
A Lisbon and Tagus Valley (LVT) region continues to lead the new daily cases with prominence, with 4834 cases in the last 24 hours. Follow North with 2651, Center with 1385, Alentejo with 254, Algarve with 233, Azores with 40 and Madeira, which has been showing very high numbers in the last two weeks, with 101 new cases.
As deaths were distributed across all regions with the exception of Madeira: LVT with 136 deaths, Center with 66, North with 59, Alentejo with 26, Algarve with five and Azores with one. As for deaths, this was the evolution in 24 hours:
