The Google Play Store will now allow real money casino and betting applications. The announcement was made through the Google Blog and announces that the Play Store will implement this permission for 15 countries starting March 1.

The new permission for gambling applications will be effective for Germany, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, USA, Finland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania and Sweden.
In the Google publication, the 15 countries and their limitations were listed, with app developers and developers and having to complete a form and ensure that they are in accordance with IARC (International Age Rating Coalition).
The update now allows that in these countries applications of casinos, sports betting, lottery and fantasy sports, all using real money.
Portugal is off the list for the Google Play Store
Despite the extensive list of countries mentioned above, Portugal is left out. In a country where online betting has grown a lot, there is still no provision for developers to launch real money gambling applications.
If until now Portugal was just another country where this type of applications was not allowed on the Google Play Store, the truth is that the Portuguese country now joins some countries that were left out of the list, such as Italy, Greece or Switzerland.
We remind you that before today’s announcement, gambling applications on the Google Play Store were only allowed in Brazil, the United Kingdom, France and Ireland.
