Steve Albini, music producer and poker player, revealed to “Kerrang!” having made a bet, 20 years ago, with the band Nirvana that involved the values - 100 thousand dollars or 202 thousand euros – that the group would pay him for his work as a producer, counting on today’s currency, which would be inflation of 18 years.
After all, what was the bet? If Nirvana managed to beat him in a game of snooker, Albini would work for free, but if he won, the band would have to pay him double for the job. However, Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl decided not to accept the proposal.
“I did it with all the bands I produced,” said the producer. “Nobody has ever accepted it. It’s not like I know how to play snooker, but I have a chance of winning in a balanced game. My life wouldn’t change if I won or lost, but I think the Nirvana didn’t like to take chances.”
