British pop star Ellie Goulding (34) and her husband and art dealer Caspar Jopling (29) are expecting their first child together.
This is revealed by the former in an interview with Vogue, where she also announces that the reporter in the fashion magazine is the first person she tells the good news to. Goulding also reveals that she is 30 weeks on the road.
– Getting pregnant makes me feel more human. I want to find a better word than female, but I have curves now that I did not have before. I like that, and my husband likes that too, she says.
The Vogue article also contains several pictures where you can clearly see the growing pregnant belly.
The artist reveals to Vogue how she found out she was pregnant. Goulding and Jopling, who by the way got married in August 2019, had no plans to get pregnant so soon after the wedding.
– It happened around the time when Caspar and I left on the occasion of our one year wedding anniversary, and that was basically when we found out. It was crazy because it was our wedding day. That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant did not seem like a reality, she admits.
Goulding further explains that at first she did not believe she was pregnant, but as several changes occurred during the first trimester, she was forced to adjust.
What she wanted to eat was among the things that changed and Goulding, who points out that she usually has a healthy diet, suddenly only wanted food from the fast food chain McDonalds.
This made her terrified, she admits.
Despite a change in diet, Goulding is very excited about becoming a mother for the very first time, but at the same time she admits that it can be lonely to be pregnant during an ongoing pandemic.
Married in a magnificent way
As mentioned, it was in August 2019 that Goulding and Jopling gave each other their yes. It took place in a grand wedding in one of Northern Europe’s largest Gothic cathedrals, York Minster, in the English city of Yorkshire.
The artist, who is behind a number of well-known love songs such as “Love Me Like You Do” and “How Long Will I Love You”, walked up the long church floor in a foot-side, elegant wedding dress from the fashion house Chloé.
The dress had long sleeves and a high collar, and was specially adapted to the famous medieval cathedral where the wedding took place. The couple’s initials were also embroidered on the bride’s long veil, and Goulding himself had been very involved in the design of the wedding dress.
Among the guests at the grand wedding were Princess Eugenie (30) and her husband Jack Brooksbank (35), who by the way were one of the groom’s fiancés.
Princess Beatrice (32) and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (38), as well as the princess’ mother, Sarah (61) – who is aptly the Duchess of York – were also present during the celebration.
