International midfielder Johnny is among the 48 players pre-selected by the United States under-23 team to qualify for the Concafcaf for the Tokyo Olympics in Japan. Johnny already embarks this Sunday to join the American group in Mexico. There, there will be a training period that will select the 20 athletes able to participate in the qualifying.

The tournament will be played between March 18 and 30, in the city of Guadalajara. The United States is in group A, with Mexico, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. Two teams advance to the semifinals, and those who reach the final are guaranteed at the Olympic Games, which would be played in 2020, but were postponed to 2021 due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
